Partners Group to Sell VSB Group to TotalEnergies

Partners Group, a notable player in the global private markets, has agreed to sell VSB Group, a leading renewable energy platform in Europe, to TotalEnergies. The sale values VSB at EUR 1.57 billion. This marks a significant transformation for VSB, which was acquired by Partners Group in 2020. During their ownership, Partners Group elevated VSB from a mid-sized renewables developer to a major pan-European platform.

VSB operates across the renewable energy chain, with assets in wind, solar, and e-mobility solutions. Currently, it manages 3 GW of assets and has developed over 2.3 GW to date. The company attributes its growth to Europe's decarbonization initiatives and has expanded its project pipeline significantly under Partners Group's strategic guidance.

David Daum from Partners Group believes this sale is timely, given the completed value creation plan that has quintupled VSB’s EBITDA. VSB is expected to thrive further with its robust foundations and ongoing growth strategies. Partners Group was supported by Nomura Greentech and A&O Shearman during this transaction.
