3U HOLDING AG Secures Contract in Federal Network Agency's Onshore Wind Energy Tender
3U HOLDING AG has been awarded a contract in the Federal Network Agency's most recent tender for onshore wind energy. The contract enables 3U to advance its repowering project in Langendorf, Saxony-Anhalt, with an expected capacity of 31 MW moving into the implementation phase. The company plans to invest around EUR 70 million, with new facilities projected to connect to the grid by the end of 2025.
The Langendorf wind farm project involves replacing seven existing turbines with five new Vestas V162 turbines. The upgrade will increase the installed capacity from 22.5 MW to 43.0 MW, thereby supplying green electricity to approximately 30,000 households and saving over 40,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually. Financing will be sourced from available liquidity and debt financing from a renowned financial institution.
Christoph Hellrung, CFO of 3U HOLDING AG, stated that the contract represents another key step in their renewable energies segment, significantly contributing to the energy transition.
