Aareal Bank Secures €157.5 Million Refinancing for Italian Luxury Hotels

Aareal Bank has successfully closed a €157.5 million refinancing deal with Castello SGR for two luxury hotels in Italy. These properties include the InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace and the Anglo American Hotel Florence. The Rome Ambasciatori Palace, located on Via Veneto, reopened in 2023 after renovation, offering 160 rooms and various amenities. The Anglo American Hotel in Florence, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, reopened in April 2024 with 118 rooms and modern design, positioned near major attractions.

Bettina Graef-Parker of Aareal Bank noted the rising investor interest in the Italian hotel sector, with Rome and Florence being key growth markets. The Italian hospitality sector saw a 45% transaction increase in 2024, according to Castello SGR's Michelangelo Ripamonti. Aareal Bank AG acted as arranger and facility agent for this transaction.
