ABB Ltd Reports Robust Growth in Q4 2024, Eyes Positive 2025 Outlook

ABB Ltd concluded 2024 with record-high revenues, presenting promising results in their fourth quarter. Orders reached $8.1 billion, showing a 6% increase, with a comparable rise of 7%. Revenues grew to $8.6 billion, marking a 4% improvement. Operational EBITA was reported at $1,434 million, a margin of 16.7%. Basic earnings per share (EPS) advanced by 7% to $0.54, although cash flow from operations saw a 19% decline to $1,537 million.

For the full fiscal year, ABB recorded stable order growth of $33.7 billion. Revenue also saw a modest increase, totaling $32.9 billion. Operational EBITA stood strong at $5,968 million, achieving an 18.1% margin. EPS grew by 6% to $2.13. The company proposed a dividend of CHF0.90 per share.

CEO Morten Wierod expressed confidence in ABB's strategic direction for 2025, highlighting potential for profitability and continued strong cash flow. Plans for a share buyback of up to $1.5 billion were also announced.
