ABO Wind Transitions to ABO Energy

ABO Wind has officially transitioned its legal structure from a stock corporation (AG) to a partnership limited by shares (KGaA) and has rebranded itself as ABO Energy. The Wiesbaden District Court has registered the new name, ABO Energy GmbH & Co. KGaA, as of today.

The change was approved by shareholders at an Extraordinary General Meeting held on 27 October 2023, where 87 percent voted in favor. The new legal form aims to preserve the influence of founders Dr. Jochen Ahn and Matthias Bockholt on company decisions and culture.

The rebranding to ABO Energy reflects the company's broadened expertise in wind, solar, storage, and hydrogen technologies. Despite a legal challenge delaying the implementation, the Wiesbaden District Court has now completed the registration process. Most international subsidiaries have already adopted the new name.

Managing Director Dr. Jochen Ahn expressed satisfaction with the change, emphasizing the company's commitment to transparency and its increased focus on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG).
