Abu Dhabi Launches Vertiport Network for Air Taxis

On November 10, 2025, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), alongside the General Civil Aviation Authority and other key partners, announced the launch of the first vertiport network to enable air taxi operations in Abu Dhabi. This initiative represents a significant step in integrating advanced air mobility within the emirate, highlighting Abu Dhabi's commitment to smart and sustainable transport solutions.

The vertiport network, part of the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries cluster's strategy, will encompass over ten state-of-the-art vertiports. These facilities will support electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, enhancing connectivity and reducing emissions across strategic locations. Key transport hubs like Zayed International Airport and Al Bateen Executive Airport are integral to this network.

This development aligns with Abu Dhabi's vision of pioneering next-generation mobility. The General Civil Aviation Authority ensures that these advancements comply with safety and regulatory standards, supporting seamless integration into the emirate's broader transport infrastructure. The initiative underscores Abu Dhabi's role as a global leader in urban mobility.
