Aclara Resources Advances Carina Project in Brazil with Key EIA Submission
On May 29, 2025, Aclara Resources Inc. announced the submission of its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Carina Project in Goiás, Brazil. This marks a significant milestone in their plan for commercial rare earth production by 2028. Submitted under SEMAD's innovative IPE system, this "Category Six" application meets existing standards, though future updates might be needed.
The Carina Project aims for an annual output of 191 tonnes of Dysprosium and Terbium, addressing a portion of U.S. automotive demand by 2030. It also plans to produce 1,350 tonnes of Neodymium and Praseodymium annually for 22 years. Aclara's pilot plant in Aparecida de Goiania showcases their Circular Mineral Harvesting technology, enhancing efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Aclara remains on track to complete a Pre-Feasibility Study and Feasibility Study by early 2026. The company's strong collaboration with local authorities supports the project's goal of operational status by end-2028, with positive socio-economic impacts for the region.
