Aclara Secures Second Patent for Eco-friendly Heavy Rare Earths Extraction Process

Aclara Resources Inc., a development-stage company, announced it has received a second patent in Chile for its innovative Circular Mineral Harvesting (CMH) process, aimed at extracting heavy rare earths in an environmentally sustainable manner. The patent underscores the company's commitment to reducing environmental impact through a process that requires no crushing or milling, recycles 95% of water used, and reuses 99% of its reagent, a common fertilizer, leaving no liquid residues or need for a tailings dam.

The CMH process, which is valid for 20 years, highlights Aclara's efforts in setting new standards for sustainable rare earth extraction. According to Barry Murphy, COO of Aclara, this milestone positions the company as a leader in clean heavy rare earth sourcing. The process has undergone successful tests at Aclara's Pilot Plant in Concepcion, Chile, processing ionic clays from its Chilean and Brazilian projects. A commercial-grade concentrate of high-purity heavy rare earths is anticipated from these pilot campaigns.
