ACOFP Foundation Launches "Family Medicine Forward" Campaign
The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) Foundation announced the launch of Family Medicine Forward, a new fundraising initiative aimed at supporting early career osteopathic family physicians. Unveiled in Chicago, the campaign focuses on leadership development, increased representation, and enhanced patient support. By addressing these critical barriers, the foundation seeks to shape the future of osteopathic family medicine.
ACOFP Foundation President, Paul A. Martin, DO, highlighted the campaign’s goal to improve health outcomes through well-trained physicians equipped with leadership skills and mentoring. The campaign will support programs including leadership conferences, one-on-one coaching, and formal mentorship, among others. It kicks off at the ACOFP's 61st Annual Convention in New Orleans, aiming to raise funds for three years.
Carol L. Henwood, DO, the campaign's Chair, emphasized the role of nurturing future leaders to ensure the profession's longevity. The initiative invites donors to contribute towards the empowerment of next-generation physicians, promising a resilient future for the profession. Donations can be made on the foundation's website.
