Acquisition of Greencells Group's Renewables Project by Davidson Kempner and Nature Infrastructure Capital
Davidson Kempner Capital Management and Nature Infrastructure Capital have acquired the renewable project development business from Greencells Group. The newly formed platform boasts a substantial portfolio of nearly 4 GW in utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across Europe and North America. Of this, around 800 MW is at a ready-to-build stage, promising significant growth under the new ownership.
Andreas Hoffmann, Greencells' founder, will continue to lead the platform. The joint venture aims to accelerate its expansion in key markets, focusing on the global energy transition. The project development platform has broadened its scope significantly over the past five years, underpinned by investment from the Zahid Group.
This acquisition allows for increased deployment of resources to transition projects into operational stages, enhancing clean energy supply to communities.
