Advances in generative AI in health: an eye-opening collaboration

AVIA, a leading partner in digital transformation in the healthcare sector, celebrated six months of its strategic collaboration on generative AI. This initiative, bringing together 29 leading health systems and key stakeholders like the American Hospital Association, has helped accelerate the safe and effective adoption of AI in healthcare.

Since its launch in summer 2023, this collaboration has produced 32 healthcare AI use cases and developed five comprehensive frameworks, including the TRUSTED framework. The latter helps governance bodies and committees provide high-level guidance for the safe, ethical and effective use of AI.

Linda Finkel, CEO of AVIA, emphasizes the importance of navigating complex decisions to realize the full potential of this emerging technology. Recent surveys indicate that 95% of participating health systems have gained confidence in taking action with AI since the collaboration began, marking its considerable impact.

With members including renowned hospitals such as Providence and Cedars-Sinai, this collaboration focuses on the responsible, valuable and ethical integration of AI into healthcare systems. AVIA is already preparing phase 2 of this collaboration, promising to delve deeper into use cases and solutions for significant transformation of the healthcare sector through AI.
