AFYREN reaches 2 million hours of laboratory fermentation
AFYREN, a greentech company based in France, is celebrating a new stage in its development. After 12 years of research, she reached the milestone of 2 million hours of fermentation in the laboratory. This advance is crucial for identifying the raw materials that will support its industrial expansion.
Jérémy PESSIOT, Deputy Managing Director, underlines the importance of low-cost technology based on biomass. Inspired by natural ecosystems, this technology converts various organic materials into biosourced molecules.
Thanks to its fermentation process protected by 10 patent families, AFYREN transforms organic raw materials into carboxylic acids. The acids obtained are then purified to meet industrial standards.
In order to support its international development, AFYREN has identified 60 families of biomass capable of being transformed on a large scale. Partnerships, notably with SUEZ, even allow the recovery of organic household waste.
AFYREN's strategy focuses on innovation and the development of circular value chains. The company invests in research to optimize its processes and explore new ways of valorizing biomass.
