AGRANA Reports Revenue Drop and Profit Decline for 2024/25
AGRANA, the fruit, starch, and sugar company, posted its financial results for the first three quarters of 2024/25, showing revenue of €2,707.8 million, an 8.1% decline from the previous year. EBIT fell drastically by 65.8%, reaching €51.1 million, with the EBIT margin dropping to 1.9%. The profit for the period decreased significantly by 81.4% to €14.5 million. The decrease was mainly due to lower sales prices in the Starch and Sugar segments, despite higher sales volumes overall.
In the Fruit segment, revenues slightly increased to €1,223.4 million. The Starch segment experienced a significant revenue decrease to €767.0 million, impacted by lower product prices. The Sugar segment's revenue fell to €717.4 million due to strong market pressures.
AGRANA anticipates a substantial decrease in EBIT for the entire fiscal year, with investments aimed at reducing emissions amid an unstable market environment.
