AI for Equity Challenge Launched by IRCAI, Zindi, and AWS
Participants will utilize advanced cloud computing, including generative AI, to expedite solutions in combating climate change. The challenge is hosted on Zindi's platform and launched during the 2024 UN General Assembly in New York City.
The AI for Equity Challenge targets Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 5 (Gender Equality), and 13 (Climate Action). Researchers, non-profits, and startups are invited to develop innovative solutions addressing gender and health equity issues exacerbated by the climate crisis.
Participants will access data through Amazon Sustainability Data Initiative (ASDI) and use AWS AI services and infrastructure. Selected teams will receive AWS credits and expert guidance on AI sustainability and responsible AI.
Proposals will be evaluated by a steering committee from NAIXUS. The first round of submissions closes on November 4, 2024. Applications are open and more details can be found on Zindi's website.
