Air Liquide Advances European Decarbonization with ELYgator Electrolyzer
Air Liquide has committed to building ELYgator, a 200 MW electrolyzer in the Netherlands' Port of Rotterdam. Supported by the Dutch government and European initiatives, this project solidifies its position in low-carbon hydrogen production, contributing significantly to European decarbonization. The company's investment over 500 million euros will supply TotalEnergies via a long-term contract.
Annually, ELYgator will produce 23,000 tons of renewable hydrogen, aiding industrial and mobility sectors, and potentially cutting 300,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. Integrating Proton Exchange Membrane and Alkaline technologies, the project is slated to be operational by 2027's end.
