Air Liquide selected for a CCS project in Stockholm
Air Liquide has been chosen by Stockholm Exergi to supply its CO2 liquefaction technology, Cryocap™ LQ, as part of a bioenergy with carbon dioxide capture and storage (BECCS) project. This project takes place in a plant producing heat and electricity from biomass in Stockholm, Sweden.
Cryocap™ LQ technology stands out for its chemical-free and flammable process, as well as its compact architecture. With a capacity of 3,500 tonnes per day, this unit will be one of the largest in the world. The project aims to liquefy and sequester approximately eight million tonnes of biogenic CO2 over ten years.
The project is supported by the European Innovation Fund, promoting low-carbon technologies. This initiative allows Air Liquide to strengthen its commitment to a low-carbon society, in accordance with its ADVANCE strategic plan.
