Airbus Reports First Quarter 2024 Financial Performance

Airbus SE disclosed its financial outcomes for the first quarter of 2024, emphasizing a stable order intake and continued plans for increasing production rates despite ongoing geopolitical and supply chain challenges. The European aerospace corporation recorded revenues of €12.8 billion, a 9% increase from the previous year. However, adjusted EBIT fell by 25% to €577 million, attributed partially to investments in future production capabilities.

During this quarter, Airbus delivered 142 commercial aircraft, compared to 127 in the same period last year. The company highlighted its decision to boost the production rate of the A350 to 12 aircraft per month by 2028, affirming strong market demand. Meanwhile, the free cash flow before customer financing was reported at €-1.8 billion, impacted by planned inventory build-ups.
