Airbus Reports Half-Year 2024 Financial Results
Airbus SE, listed under the symbol AIR, has disclosed its financial outcomes for the first half of 2024. The company has delivered 323 commercial aircraft, with consolidated revenues reaching €28.8 billion, marking a 4% increase from H1 2023. Adjusted EBIT was reported as €1.4 billion, reflecting charges in the Space Systems sector.
Gross commercial aircraft orders were down significantly at 327 compared to 1,080 in the same period last year. Net orders stood at 310, with an order backlog of 8,585 commercial aircraft. Airbus Helicopters saw an uptick in net orders to 233 units.
While Airbus Defence and Space recorded a slight increase in order intake to €6.1 billion, its EBIT Adjusted was heavily impacted by costs, registering a loss of €807 million due to substantial charges. The consolidated free cash flow before customer financing was negative at €-0.5 billion.
The financial results were also influenced by increased self-financed R&D expenses, totaling €1.6 billion, up from €1.4 billion in H1 2023. Airbus’ gross cash position stood at €21.9 billion, and its net cash position was €7.9 billion after dividend payments.
Looking forward, Airbus aims to deliver around 770 commercial aircraft in 2024, with an EBIT Adjusted target of approximately €5.5 billion and free cash flow before customer financing of around €3.5 billion.
