Ohio State University Acquires AIXTRON MOCVD System for Advancing Semiconductor Research
The Ohio State University has invested in a Close Coupled Showerhead® MOCVD system from AIXTRON SE. This system will aid in the advanced epitaxial growth of gallium oxide and aluminum gallium oxide on 100 mm substrates. These materials are crucial for developing wide and ultrawide bandgap devices that operate efficiently at high voltages, frequencies, and temperatures.
Professor Steven A. Ringel from OSU expressed satisfaction with AIXTRON’s reactors and highlighted the platform's scalability, crucial for their collaborative efforts. Dr. Felix Grawert, CEO of AIXTRON SE, emphasized the partnership's potential to push forward gallium oxide technology, marking a significant advancement in semiconductor innovation.
The MOCVD reactor will be installed at Nanotech West Lab, enhancing Ohio State’s research infrastructure, operated by the Institute for Materials and Manufacturing Research.
