Allied Universal Security Professional Frederick Tucker Honored for Life-Saving Actions During Library Shooting

Frederick Tucker, a security professional at Allied Universal, has been awarded the 2023 Ralph Day Memorial Security Officer Heroism Award. Tucker's quick response during a shooting at the Nashville Metro Public Library has earned him this prestigious recognition.

On August 10, 2023, Tucker was on patrol when he heard gunfire from the library's restroom area. He promptly directed visitors to take cover and provided first aid to a gunshot victim, using his uniform shirt to slow the bleeding until paramedics arrived. His actions helped save lives and ensured the safety of the patrons.

Tucker will accept the award on September 22 at the 2024 Global Security Exchange Conference in Orlando. His heroism will also be highlighted in the Allied Universal booth. The annual Ralph Day Memorial Award, sponsored by ASIS International, honors security officers who demonstrate exceptional bravery and professionalism.
