Alstom signs a 323 million euro contract with Polo Logistica FS for 70 locomotives
On June 19, 2024, Alstom announced the signing of a €323 million contract with Polo Logistica FS. This contract provides for the supply of 70 Traxx Universal locomotives as well as 12 years of complete maintenance. An option for 30 additional locomotives is included. The first deliveries will begin in 2025.
The locomotives will be manufactured in Italy, at the Vado Ligure site. This site is known for its expertise in the production of railway vehicles. A network of specialized technicians will ensure maintenance throughout Italy.
Traxx Universal is known for its fuel efficiency and high traction capabilities. Some of these locomotives will be equipped with last mile technology, allowing efficient transition between electrified and non-electrified areas.
Alstom thus strengthens its position as a leader in sustainable mobility solutions by providing locomotives adapted to the operational needs of its customers.
