Alta Copper Announces Board Reconstitution

Alta Copper Corp. has announced the appointment of Dr. Robert J. McDonald to its Board of Directors and a reconstitution of the Board. This decision follows the retirement of Joanne C. Freeze, Sean Waller, and Miguel Inchaustegui. The new board will include Giulio T. Bonifacio, Steven A. Latimer, Robert J. McDonald, Andrew Hamilton, and Christine Nicolau.

Joanne C. Freeze, who founded Alta Copper and played a significant role in the development of the Cañariaco copper project, will continue to serve the company as a consultant. Giulio T. Bonifacio, Executive Chair and CEO, acknowledged her contributions along with those of Inchaustegui and Waller.

The reconstituted Board is expected to accelerate the development of the Cañariaco Project, with Fortescue Ltd. taking a more active role. The new board member, Dr. McDonald, brings over three decades of international executive experience and a strong academic background.

Other management changes include Bonifacio assuming the duties of CEO and Maria Paz Alfaro being appointed as Corporate Secretary. The reconstitution follows Fortescue’s majority voting policy and consultations between the company’s Chair and Fortescue.
