Altech Batteries Signs LOI with Enertrag and Energiequelle for 160 CERENERGY GridPacks
Altech Batteries GmbH, a subsidiary of Altech Advanced Materials AG, has secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Enertrag SE, Energiequelle GmbH, and Referenzkraftwerk Lausitz GmbH. This agreement entails the delivery of 160 CERENERGY GridPacks, each with a capacity of 1 MWh. The plan is to supply 32 MWh annually from 2026 for an initial five-year period, with the first units scheduled for late 2026.
The partners aim to create a hybrid energy island combining wind and photovoltaic power for decentralized use across Europe. The LOI also includes the purchase of 10 GridPacks for the "Reflau" power plant in Saxony. Altech will also buy green electricity from the partners for its planned production plant.
This LOI marks Altech's second agreement in recent weeks for its salt-based solid-state batteries, building confidence in the planned production of 120 MWh capacity in Schwarze Pumpe. The CERENERGY batteries are recognized for their long lifespan and safety, offering an alternative to lithium-ion technology.
