Amarc Announces JO Porphyry Copper-Gold Discovery in British Columbia

Amarc Resources Ltd. introduced a significant copper-gold target, the JO Porphyry, within the Duke District of central British Columbia. Discovered through comprehensive exploration in 2023, the JO Target showcases potential for significant mineral deposits, bolstered by positive geophysical anomalies and mineralization indicators.

The Duke District Earn-in Agreement with Boliden Mineral Canada Ltd. facilitated a $10 million exploration investment in 2023, with an additional $10 million planned for 2024. The funding is earmarked for exploring the Duke Deposit and further drill-ready locations throughout the district.

Amarc’s exploration strategy included geochemical, geophysical, and geological surveys aimed at uncovering porphyry copper-gold deposits. The JO Target, specifically, manifests characteristics analogous to the historical Babine porphyry Cu-Au region. Notable are its association with regional structural controls and a significant induced polarization chargeability anomaly.

Initial sample tests from JO revealed encouraging copper, gold, and silver concentrations, prompting plans for an extensive drilling program in the summer of 2024. Amarc believes the science-backed explorative methodology applied thus far will optimally position them to uncover and delineate further porphyry Cu-Au deposits in the district.
