American College of Education Advocates for Financial Transparency in Healthcare Education

A report from Georgetown University highlights the high costs and debt associated with healthcare graduate programs. The American College of Education (ACE) supports this study, emphasizing the need for transparency in loan debt and tuition costs. The report shows healthcare students debt averages at $93,000, significantly above the general average of $50,000, with 73% going into debt compared to 53% in other fields.

ACE calls for programs to undergo "debt-to-earnings" and "in-field earnings premium" tests, ensuring that loan payments do not exceed 10% of graduates' median earnings and that healthcare professionals earn at least 5% more than peers without the degree. ACE also encourages reducing tuition costs while maintaining education quality, having already frozen its tuition since 2016, resulting in 86% of students graduating debt-free.

ACE supports education affordability by opting out of federal financial aid, reducing operational costs, and employs partnerships and technology to shorten program duration and decrease costs. With a graduation rate of 85%, ACE continues to offer flexible, accredited online degrees with strong student support.
