AR-Powered Documentary Series Showcases Zhengzhou's Rich Cultural Heritage

The Zhengzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, in collaboration with Xinhua News Agency, has unveiled a digital series titled "Zhengzhou in Cultural Relics." Comprising 10 episodes, this initiative debuted globally on the International Day for Monuments and Sites, aiming to spotlight the cultural significance of Zhengzhou in China's Henan Province.

The series showcases major heritage sites, such as the Shuanghuaishu Site in Gongyi and the Peiligang Site. Through animation and reenactments, it brings historical sites to life and underscores Zhengzhou's role as a key cradle of Chinese civilization, boasting extensive archaeological achievements.

Produced over five years, the series earned recognition in 2024, being named an "Excellent Project for Chinese Cultural Relics New Media Dissemination" by the National Cultural Heritage Administration. This project highlights Zhengzhou's dedication to archaeological research and cultural heritage promotion.
