Armacell to Open Aerogel Insulation Plant in India and Launch ArmaGel XG
Armacell has announced the opening of a new aerogel insulation plant in Pune, India, and the launch of their next-generation aerogel product line, ArmaGel XG. The new aerogel blanket is compliant with ASTM C1728 standards and aims to support short-term customer needs.
This initiative is in response to the incident at Armacell’s Cheonan plant in South Korea earlier this month. The launch will expand the company's ArmaGel portfolio and introduce ArmaGel XGH, available from October 2024. Initial production will start in China, with additional capacity being built in India, set to be operational by mid-2025.
Armacell's President and CEO, Laurent Musy, emphasized the company's commitment to providing energy-efficient solutions to the Industrial and Energy sectors. The new technology is also expected to enhance thermal management in electric vehicle battery cells.
