Ørsted Launches Osonic Technology with Luxcara Agreement

Ørsted has announced the commercialization of its Osonic platform, signing a preferred supplier agreement with Luxcara. This marks the first step in deploying Ørsted’s low-noise monopile installation technology, designed to reduce underwater noise during offshore wind turbine foundation installation. The technology will be used across Luxcara's offshore wind projects in Germany, offering both environmental and cost benefits.

Osonic technology represents a significant innovation over conventional pile-driving methods. Successful tests were conducted at Ørsted's Gode Wind 3 Offshore Wind Farm, demonstrating a 99% reduction in underwater noise. This move aligns with Ørsted’s strategy to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of offshore wind energy, offering licensing and consulting services to third parties.
