Artmarket.com Shows Strong Growth and Extends Reach to Global Academic Market
The 36th Congress of the International Committee of Art History (CIHA) took place in Lyon from June 23 to 28, 2024, with Artprice by Artmarket as a key patron. The event hosted over 2,000 delegates and 1,000 speakers from 70 countries. It featured 90 sessions, including 10 major conferences, numerous discussions, and an inauguration by Nobel Prize winner Orhan Pamuk.
Artprice's recent study at the CIHA identified it as the 'top-of-mind' art market database, cited by 86% of 378 respondents. The study noted the database's completeness, reliability, and traceability. This boosted Artprice's visibility in academic, scientific, and cultural sectors, leading to plans for expanding its online educational offerings. The firm's strategy aligns with growing demand in global education markets, particularly in North America and Asia.
In H1 2024, Artprice reported a rise in the number of sold art lots, reaching 387,000 fine art lots, marking a +3.8% increase compared to H1 2023. The inclusive nature of the art market is evident, with 91% of sales under $10,000.
