Artmarket.com announces its sponsorship of the International Congress of Art History (CIHA) in Lyon. The event, running from June 23 to 28, will welcome over a thousand researchers from more than 70 countries. This year’s theme, “matter and materiality,” will explore the sources of art, touching on modern environmental and geopolitical issues.
Established in 1873, CIHA is held every four years, drawing experts from various fields. The French Art History Committee (CFHA) organizes the 36th edition with diverse partners, focusing on production, interpretation, and conservation of artworks.
The conference will host 1500 participants and 1000 speakers. Keynote speaker Orhan Pamuk, a Turkish Nobel laureate, will open the event. Discussions will feature notable personalities including Georges Didi-Huberman and Tim Ingold.
Artprice, a subsidiary of Artmarket.com, will host a private evening at its headquarters during the congress.
