AXA Concludes Sale of Asset Manager to BNP Paribas

Stock price chart of AXA (EPA:CS) showing fluctuations.

On July 1, 2025, AXA finalized the sale of AXA Investment Managers to BNP Paribas for €5.1 billion. This transaction included AXA's sale of Select to AXA IM for €0.3 billion, totaling €5.4 billion. The deal forms a new partnership where BNP Paribas will offer investment management services to AXA, which maintains control over product design and asset management decisions.

The merger positions AXA IM alongside BNP Paribas as a major European asset manager with €1.5 trillion in assets. AXA CEO Thomas Buberl remarked that the collaboration leverages the strengths of both companies for future success.

Financially, AXA anticipates a €2.2 billion net income gain and plans a €3.8 billion share buyback program to counterbalance expected earnings reduction. AXA’s Solvency II ratio should see a positive impact, while major financial targets remain unaffected.
