Aztec Minerals Corp. Provides 2024 Gold-Silver Exploration Program Update at Tombstone Project, Arizona
Aztec Minerals Corp. has announced an update on its 2024 exploration program targeting gold-silver at the Tombstone Project in southeastern Arizona. The company is preparing to further explore the project, basing its strategies on previously gathered drilling and surface exploration data. The primary objective is to extend the project's gold-silver oxide mineralization footprint near the historical Contention Pit through new drilling targets.
Simon Dyakowski, CEO of Aztec Minerals, expressed optimism about the potential value the exploration program could add for shareholders by enlarging the target area for shallow oxide gold-silver mineralization. Recent high-grade intersections from drilling efforts support the aim of identifying a more extensive mineralized system. The initial phase in 2024 is set to pinpoint high-priority targets for expansion.
The previous exploration activities have unveiled shallow, broad oxidized gold and silver mineralization. Notably, several drilling intersections have provided evidence supporting the expansion of the mineralized footprint. Among the highlights are significant gold and silver intersections from both recent and earlier drilling endeavors, showcasing the project's potential for growth.
The exploration efforts include detailed geological mapping around the Contention pit and reconnaissance on a broader scale. The data obtained will contribute to a 3D model to guide the forthcoming drilling program design. The Tombstone project is jointly owned by Aztec Minerals and Dragoon Resources LLC, with a focus on iterating through exploration to refine drilling targets further.
Aztec aims to enhance understanding of the expandable oxidized mineralization and refine targeting for future drilling, focusing on defining various known mineralization types on the property. This marks a step forward in realizing the full potential of the Tombstone Project's gold-silver assets.
