Banff Sunshine Village Hosts Indigenous Days Celebration

Banff Sunshine Village will celebrate its third annual Indigenous Days on Aug. 30, 31, and Sept. 1, 2024, highlighting Canada's diverse cultures.

Kendra Scurfield, VP of Brand and Communications, stated, "Our goal is to honor the rich heritage of Banff National Park, historically utilized by Treaties 6, 7, and 8, as well as Métis peoples." The celebration will feature teepee demonstrations, pow-wow dances, and storytelling by elders.

Activities start daily at 10 a.m. outside the Centennial Day Lodge and are complimentary for guests and included with any valid lift ticket or season pass.

After performances, visitors are encouraged to hike Sunshine Meadows, currently in full bloom with wildflowers. A family sightseeing ticket costs $140 + GST and covers two adults and up to three children.
