The Cler Bank study highlights shortcomings in pension planning.
A study by Bank Cler and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) reveals that retirement planning remains a blind spot for many Swiss people. Although 84% of respondents have an overview of their daily finances, only 57% know where they stand regarding their retirement savings. This lack of clarity is particularly concerning for those aged 50 to 64, a crucial period for making financial adjustments.
Furthermore, financial stress primarily affects young people and families, although 98% of financially satisfied individuals manage their finances better. The study highlights the importance of financial advice for improving financial clarity.
Finally, regional differences are noted: German-speaking Switzerland saves more than French-speaking Switzerland, although the latter has more control over its insurance.
