Bastei Lübbe AG Reports Growth Amid Challenging Market Conditions

Bastei Lübbe AG, a German publishing group, reported sustained growth against market trends in the first nine months of the 2025/2026 fiscal year. The company announced group revenues of EUR 92.1 million, with an EBIT margin of 11.0%. CEO Soheil Dastyari attributes this growth to a dynamic catalogue and success in digital markets, where digital revenues increased to 31% from last year's 29%.

The "Book" segment saw revenue growth to EUR 86.8 million, despite increased costs. However, the "Novel Booklets" segment remained stable, maintaining revenues of EUR 5.3 million. Material costs rose faster than revenues, driven by enhanced production and royalty costs.

For the first nine months, Bastei Lübbe achieved a group EBT of EUR 10.0 million, with a net profit of EUR 6.7 million. Despite a challenging environment, the company confirms its full-year forecast of EUR 120-125 million in revenues and EUR 14.0-16.0 million in EBIT.
