Battery Mineral Resources Commences New Drilling at Punitaqui Copper Mine

Battery Mineral Resources Corp. (TSXV: BMR) has revealed promising drill results from its 2024 exploration program at the Punitaqui copper mine in Chile. The company resumed mill operations and copper concentrate production in May 2024, coinciding with a new underground drilling campaign.

The initial assay results from the San Andres mine include notable copper and silver mineralization. Highlights include 4.3 meters at 1.4% copper and 24 g/t silver in drillhole SAM-24-01, and 4.0 meters at 1.1% copper and 7.8 g/t silver in SAM-24-02. These findings validate the geological models and extend the known mineralization.

The drilling program aims to confirm and expand existing resources. The results will be integrated into BMR’s resource models to refine mine designs and optimize mining schedules. One contract drill is currently in operation at the Cinabrio underground mine, with assay results pending.

CEO Martin Kostuik expressed satisfaction with these results, citing the potential for additional copper resources without significant capital investment in new mine development. The company expects to report further updates from the ongoing drill program.
