Belimo Sets Ambitious Net-Zero Goal by 2050

Belimo Holding AG, a leader in building automation for energy efficiency, has committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This initiative aligns with the company's climate strategy, focusing on innovative devices and funding climate action through the Belimo Climate Foundation.

Belimo will join the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to set reduction targets consistent with the Paris Agreement. These targets will cover Scope 1-3 emissions, enhancing Belimo's sustainability leadership in the HVAC industry.

The strategy involves three elements: advancing energy-efficient HVAC solutions, developing a comprehensive climate transition plan, and supporting external emissions reductions through the Belimo Climate Foundation. CEO Lars van der Haegen highlights the significant impact of buildings on emissions and Belimo's role in addressing this.

In the next 6-12 months, Belimo will submit its emissions reduction targets to the SBTi for validation. Collaboration with stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, will be crucial in achieving these goals.
