BioMap Secures Funding from HKIC for AI and Biotech Development
HONG KONG SAR - Hong Kong Science Park Corporation (HKSTP) announced that BioMap, a company based at the Park, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited (HKIC). This collaboration aims to foster innovation in biopharmaceuticals, green technology, and new industrialisation, solidifying Hong Kong's status as a global technology and innovation hub.
At the International Bio-Computing Innovation Summit, Clara Chan (CEO of HKIC) and Wei Liu (CEO of BioMap) signed the partnership agreement, witnessed by Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government. BioMap integrates AI with biotechnology to expedite research and development, focusing on areas like pharmaceuticals and enzymes. BioMap will also launch its first Innovation Hub in Hong Kong, enhancing its global operations.
Albert Wong, CEO of HKSTP, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, underlining HKSTP's commitment to providing diverse support to biotech firms and accelerating the commercialisation of scientific research. BioMap, with its newly established Innovation Hub, aims to attract global innovators and nurture local talent, fostering a robust AI for life science ecosystem in Hong Kong.
