John Wall Appointed President of BlackBerry's QNX Division

BlackBerry Limited has announced John Wall as the new President of its QNX division. The appointment is effective immediately, with Wall reporting directly to CEO John J. Giamatteo. Wall, a recognized expert in embedded software, has been part of the QNX team since 1993, previously serving as Chief Operating Officer.

Giamatteo expressed confidence in Wall's leadership, citing his industry experience as key to propelling the QNX business. Wall's prior roles in product engineering and sales have been instrumental in QNX's growth, particularly in automotive systems.

Wall succeeds Mattias Eriksson, who will remain as an advisor during the transition period. This leadership change comes as QNX expands its product offerings into industrial automation and robotics, unveiling innovations like the SDP 8.0 operating system.
