QNX Introduces Groundbreaking Digital Cockpit Software

QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited, has unveiled QNX Cabin, a pioneering cloud-based software framework for developing advanced digital cockpits. This innovation facilitates rapid production while reducing development costs and enhancing global collaboration among developers.

QNX Cabin allows automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to virtualize cockpit development using a cloud-first approach, enabling code testing and refinement before transitioning to production hardware. This methodology accelerates development processes and improves time-to-market.

The platform supports the integration of safety-critical systems, like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, with consumer applications. It employs virtualization to minimize hardware dependencies, thereby offering enhanced scalability and reducing redundant development cycles.

A significant APAC-based OEM has adopted QNX Cabin for its forthcoming digital cockpit development, signaling widespread industry interest. QNX Cabin will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), where it will demonstrate integrations with partners such as Seeing Machines and dSPACE.
