Blue Elephant Energy Commissions First Self-Developed Project in Germany

On 18th July 2024, Blue Elephant Energy GmbH (BEE), based in Hamburg, successfully commissioned a solar park with a capacity of approximately 7.6 MWp. This milestone marks the completion of BEE's first self-developed project in Germany. The project is located in Meschede and was constructed by greentech systems GmbH.

The solar park will save about 4,092 tons of CO2 annually and provide green electricity to roughly 2,887 households. The project benefits from Germany's Renewable Energy Act (EEG) remuneration scheme, ensuring long-term revenue security. The financing was secured in collaboration with Deutsche Kreditbank AG (DKB).

With this new investment, BEE's German portfolio expands to 169 MWp, and its global portfolio reaches 1,642 MWp. "This project is a significant milestone in our history," said Tim Kallas, Chief Investment Officer at BEE, emphasizing Germany's importance as a core market. Additional projects with a capacity exceeding 1 GWp are in the pipeline for future development.
