BluSky Carbon Announces US$192 Million Biochar Project in Arkansas
BluSky Carbon Inc. has signed a Letter of Intent for a US$192 million biochar project, titled AR2. This project aims to serve the agricultural and land remediation needs in Northwest Arkansas, establishing a second facility following its earlier AR1 project. The company plans to deliver 70,000 tons of biochar annually over a decade, priced at US$275 per ton.
The project relies on commissioning five Vulcan Heavy biomass pyrolysis systems, contingent upon securing adequate financing. Additionally, a 25-year land lease and a feedstock proposal have been offered to support the project, subject to financing and final agreements.
Biochar, produced via pyrolysis, aids in soil improvement and carbon sequestration. The AR2 project underscores interest in using biochar for sustainable carbon reduction and agricultural enhancement.
