BluWave-ai Achieves Milestone in AI-Driven EV Demand Response in Canada

BluWave-ai has announced the successful completion of Canada's first AI-driven demand response events using connected electric vehicles (EVs) in Ottawa's utility grid during the third quarter of 2024. These events were powered by BluWave-ai's EV Everywhere platform, initially launched at Hydro Ottawa in April 2022.

In Ottawa, subscribed EV owners participated actively in weekly demand response events. Their vehicles automatically adjusted charging based on grid-aware AI models, supporting the grid while enhancing the uptake of renewable energy.

EV Everywhere leverages patented technology to manage EV charging, mitigating grid congestion and enabling increased renewable energy adoption. The platform predicts system and EV loads, assisting utilities in planning infrastructure upgrades efficiently.

The transition to electrification poses new challenges for North American grids, with anticipated significant investments needed for modernization. BluWave-ai's platform, compatible with over 100 EV models, provides a scalable solution to meet these challenges.
