Brazilian defender Abner Vinicius joins Olympique Lyonnais until 2029
Olympique Lyonnais announces the arrival of Brazilian defender Abner Vinicius, from Real Betis, for a period of five years, until June 30, 2029. The transfer amounts to 8 million euros, with profit-sharing 20% on resale.
Abner Vinicius, 24, began his career in Brazil at Ponte Preta before joining Athletico Paranense in 2019. A promising left-back, he played nearly 150 games with the Curitiba club, winning the Copa Sudamericana and a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021 with the Brazilian U23s.
In January 2023, he joined Real Betis, where he played 45 matches in a season and a half, also discovering the European Cup. With the departure of Henrique, OL wanted to quickly strengthen the left-back position.
Abner Vinicius will become the 27th Brazilian player in the club's history during his first official match with Olympique Lyonnais.
