Britvic's Acquisition by Carlsberg Approved by Court
On January 15, 2025, Britvic plc announced that the Court has sanctioned the acquisition scheme by Carlsberg UK Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of Carlsberg A/S. This acquisition involves a recommended cash offer for Britvic's entire share capital, to be enacted through a court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement under the Companies Act 2006.
The scheme's effectiveness is anticipated once the Court Order is delivered to the Registrar of Companies, scheduled for January 16, 2025. Accordingly, trading suspension of Britvic shares on the London Stock Exchange will occur on January 17, 2025, with de-listing expected by January 20, 2025.
This acquisition follows announcements in July and August 2024, culminating in all regulatory conditions being satisfied by December 2024.
