Bureau Veritas reorganizes with the sale of its food testing business
Bureau Veritas, a leading player in testing, inspection and certification services, has announced the sale of its food analysis business. The deal was concluded with Mérieux NutriSciences for an enterprise value of €360 million and proceeds of sale of approximately €290 million. This decision is part of Bureau Veritas' LEAP | 28 strategy, which aims to focus on markets where the group wants to achieve leadership positions.
The business concerned included a network of 34 laboratories spread across several continents with more than 1,900 employees. The funds from the sale are intended to finance new acquisitions to strengthen the group's core activities. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the fourth quarter of 2024.
