Bystronic AG announces annual results and cost optimization plan for 2024

Bystronic AG published its annual results on February 29, 2024, indicating a slight decline in sales but an improvement in profitability. Despite an uncertain economic context having influenced the purchasing behavior of its customers, Bystronic saw its turnover drop to CHF 930 million, mainly due to the strength of the Swiss franc. However, thanks to efficiency measures and operational cost savings, EBIT increased by 13% to CHF 54 million, with an EBIT margin of 5.8%.

The company also announced a stable dividend policy, offering 12 CHF per class A share. A cost optimization program aimed at saving 50 million CHF over two years is planned, involving the elimination of around 210 positions. These efforts should make it possible to improve profitability despite expected lower sales for 2024 due to the strong Swiss currency and the smaller order book.

Despite the challenges, its balance sheet strength and diverse service portfolio leaves Bystronic optimistic for profitable growth in the medium term. Product innovations, expansion of service offerings and digital solutions will continue to play a central role in the company's strategy to respond to changing market conditions.
