Cairn Homes Plc Appoints Bernard Byrne as Non-Executive Director and Chair-Designate

Cairn Homes Plc, a prominent Irish homebuilding company, has announced the appointment of Bernard Byrne as an independent non-executive Director and Chair-Designate, effective 1 January 2025. Byrne will succeed John Reynolds, who will retire at the end of April 2025 after serving as Chair since Cairn’s IPO in 2015. Byrne will join as a non-executive Director initially and work closely with Reynolds to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.

Byrne is a Chartered Accountant with extensive leadership, finance, and commercial experience in the Irish market. He previously served as CEO of J+E Davy and AIB Group plc, and held senior roles at ESB and IWP International plc. Michael Stanley, CEO of Cairn, highlighted Byrne’s impressive track record in leading large companies and welcomed him to the team.
