Camino and Rio Tinto Expand Claims Near Los Chapitos Copper Project in Peru
Camino Minerals Corp. announced an expansion of their claims on the Los Chapitos copper property in Peru by an additional 1,700 hectares following a successful land auction. This expansion brings the total area of their claims to 22,571 hectares. During the same auction, major mining company Rio Tinto also succeeded in acquiring new claims adjacent to Camino’s territory.
The new claims, located northwest of Los Chapitos, bridge between Camino’s and Rio Tinto’s existing claims over a significant geological fault, known as La Estancia, which extends through the area. Another claim to the north of Los Chapitos, adjacent to the Diana prospect and surrounded by two major regional faults, enhances Camino’s ability to explore these potentially mineral-rich territories.
