Camino Minerals Reports Notable Copper and Silver Results at Los Chapitos
Camino Minerals Corp has announced promising results from its Los Chapitos Copper Project in Peru. Significant copper and silver findings were reported from the Katty prospect. Highlights include 7 meters at 4.3% copper and 25.5 ppm silver, and 18 meters at 1.57% copper and 11.35 ppm silver. These results were obtained from 12 excavated channels at the site.
The project is a joint venture with Nittetsu Mining Co., which can gain a 35% stake in exchange for a CDN$10 million investment. The presence of copper mineralization associated with both oxide and sulfide forms in intrusive rocks has been confirmed, particularly along the Maqui fault. Further exploratory drilling is planned to assess the potential for extending mineralization zones.
Camino's CEO, Jay Chmelauskas, highlights the strategic value of these results, suggesting that they are some of the best samples from Los Chapitos. The company plans to advance exploration to potentially connect the Katty and Koji zones to the Adriana zone, which has a history of substantial copper mineralization.
